We started our story as partners, paired together by chance in the kitchen at Johnson & Wales University, as rising seniors in high school. We worked seamlessly together though we knew nothing about one another, and nothing about where we would end up together. Despite being separated by several states we never lost contact, and the next year we started our formal training at Johnson & Wales University side by side. We soon realized that we were not only great partners in the kitchen but also in life. After earning our bachelors degrees in the science of baking and pastry arts and working in bakeries along the east coast, we longed for more. Wanting to create something of our own we came up with "The Pastry Pair", a name that encompasses both our passion for the craft and doing what we love together.

We now focus around pastries and sourdough breads. We started our business with chocolate bonbons because they allowed us to be creative in design, taste, and textural composition. We especially enjoy their ability to balance between the worlds of art and pastry. As The Pastry Pair has grown and started selling at farmers markets and fairs in southern Maine, we expanded our offerings. When it comes to our breads and pastries we focus on using quality and local ingredients and turning them into something both beautiful and delicious. The bonbons aren't gone forever, but you won't see them for a while, as our lives got a little extra busy when the pair became a trio.

For the next few years we hope to grow our business and clientele through the amazing communities farmers markets have provided us. Markets have really become a home for our business and are where we have seen it thrive, a brick and mortar may be in the future, or not! Who knows?
